Things about wine you didn't know!
01
Wine is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grapes.
02
The natural chemical balance of grapes lets them ferment without the addition of sugars, acids, enzymes, or other nutrients.
03
Yeast consumes the sugars in the grapes and converts them into alcohol and carbon dioxide.
04
Different varieties of grapes and strains of yeasts produce different types of wine.
05
The color of wine is determined by the skin of the grape. Red wine is made from red or black grapes, while white wine is made from white grapes or red grapes with the skins removed before fermentation.
06
The alcohol content of wine can range from as low as 6% to as high as 20%.
07
Wine can be classified by the region it comes from, such as French Bordeaux or California Napa Valley.
08
Serving temperature, glassware, and decanting can all affect the taste and enjoyment of wine.
